The Meghan Markle and Prince Harry buzz shows zero signs of slowing down anytime soon. Since news broke mere months ago the 35-year-old actress was dating the royal, the Suits star has become one of the most popular searches on Google. As such, her sartorial rise to fame has been well documented.
Avid readers of her lifestyle website The Tig and those who follow her Instagram will know that Markle has a keen interest in fashion and spotting new brands. Her elegant capsule wardrobe packed full of chic shift dresses, pencil skirts and skinny leather trousers? Sitting FROW at NYFW? And that’s all before we get to her red-carpet hits over the years. Essentially, she is probably most designer’s dream RN to front their campaign.
But, a Canadian high-street store called Reitmans has got there first: revealing the ‘Meghan Markle Collection' – a "style infused five-piece collection that was designed in part by Meghan herself."
Their marketing team must be having a field day, as Meghan was signed up to the brand 18 months ago (before any royal romance). ‘Our site traffic is increasing at the time,’ Monique Brosseau, vice-president of marketing told the Evening Standard. ‘It’s hard to specify which portion of that increase comes from the fact that we’ve associated ourselves to her.’
The collection, which has almost sold out, features faux leather leggings, a charcoal grey oversized shirt and a sleek black bodysuit.
The best part? It’s totally affordable. $19.50 [£15.00] to dress like a princess in the making? Yes, please.
