We don't have anything against signet rings, but they're not exactly at the cutting edge of fashion these days, are they. Wait - hold on. We're receiving a message from Norway. 'Hei!' says Norweigan jeweller Mona Jensen of Tom Wood. (Don't be too impressed. That only means 'hi' and we Googled it.) But her point is this: rings can be beyond cool when they are made of solid silver or gold and inset with onyx and white agate. And she's right.

This Cushion Onyx ring from Wood's Patriot Collection, £235.61, is expensive, yes - but it'll make you feel pimping in all the right kinds of ways. Witness key bloggers like Charlotte from The Fashion Guitar wearing them at London Fashion Week recently. And if you're more of a gold girl, don't despair: Mona's done them too. We've started saving.
