‘What’s going through your head when you get dressed in the morning?’ we asked Maya Jama, ‘not much’ she candidly replied. A girl after our own heart here at The Debrief, Maya is taking over the airwaves day by day on her own terms.

Maya, who grew up in Bristol and is half-Swedish and half-Somalian, has done a lot in her very short career. From presenting a show on one of East London’s uncompromising and innovative radio stations, Rinse FM, to appearing as a commentator on Love Island’s After Sun and presenting for MTV and 4music Maya is a multi-tasking one woman media powerhouse. Maya will also be one of the presenters for CannonBall, a new ITV show airing later this year.

Watch Maya's interview below:

Like so many of us, she’s juggling several different things at any given time. We spoke to her about how that influences what she chooses to wear on any given day. As women, whether we like it or not, we’re so often judged on our appearances and what we wear does influence how people perceive us. Maya told The Debrief Deputy Editor, Vicky Spratt, how she navigates this, what items of clothing she feels most comfortable in and how she will often take several changes of clothes with her when she sets off in the morning.
