It’s all over, the battle has been won. Glasses have been deemed truly trendy ever since the Gucci SS17 collection saw practically every model on the catwalk donning a chic pair of specs. What’s more, a diverse dose of celebs including the likes of Rashida Jones, Karlie Kloss and Alexa Chung have all made it their trademark, so we can pretty much ascertain that the right frames add the ultimate cool-girl factor to any style.

That’s why you need to find the best makeup look to compliment your frames. Shape, style and colour is everything when it comes to glasses, as it should be when it comes to your makeup. So we’ve teamed up with Specsavers to prove that from natural to dramatic looks, wearing glasses doesn’t need to hinder the way you style yourself.

Plus, our favourite Pop Queen Kylie Minogue is set to release her new Specsavers Eyewear collection on Valentine’s Day, just in time to give us some much needed #frame-spo.

First Off… Base

Your complexion should remain simple and understated, with glasses adding depth to your look. You run the risk of your frames rubbing the foundation off you face, so always apply a light foundation and set it with powder like a translucide powder to prevent smearing under your glasses. To avoid looking like you’ve had zero hours sleep, invest in a light yellow based concealer to avoid creating shadows underneath your eyes.

Dripping With Drama

Slick black frames, like the Kylie 9, are dripping with drama as it is, but if you want to add an extra dash of vivacity, some bold red lippy is a must. When it comes to eye-liner, make sure you adjust it’s thickness depending on the style of your glasses. The thicker the frames, the thicker your liner should be- you don’t want your specs to outshine your eyes!

A Pop Of Colour

The Kylie 5 pink cat-eye frames are perfect for your spring and summer self. You want to pair coloured frames with neutral colours to keep things bright and airy. Choose a soft, nude shade for your lips and a delicate rouge for the apple of your cheeks. Keep your brows light and feathery by brushing your brows up from the head to the arch with a natural coloured pencil that best matches your hair.

Retro Specs

Retro tortoiseshell frames like the Kylie 6 will project those much-wanted nostaliga vibes. Although, don’t go too heavy on the makeup with round glasses, as you want to stay true to the vintage-inspired frames. A thin but sharp eyeliner with a warm blush will keep your face fresh and understated. Top off the look with a berry pink lip shade for balance.
