Mary Kate And Ashley Win The Top Award At The CFDAs

Last night Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen went home with the top prize at the CFDA Awards - Womenswear Designer of the Year. They beat nominees Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Proenza Schouler and Altuzarra.

Now you didn't think Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen would do a Rihanna and create a 'moment' at the CFDAs, did you? They did the classic Olsen thing in all-black tailoring with centre parts. They may be just over 5 foot, but the twins clearly value comfort as they both wore flat shoes. Ashley wore cream and black Chanel pumps, while Mary-Kate wore black patent tasselled loafers.

They walked on stage arm in arm and said 'congratulations' to each other (aww) before making their acceptance speech.

As for the other winners, Tom Ford went home with menswear designer of the year award, Pharrell Williams was this year's fashion icon winner, Tabitha Simmons won accessory designer of the year award and Rosie Assoulin won the Swarovski award for womenswear.

Kim Kardashian presented the media award to Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom. She spoke on the red carpet about Caityln Jenner's Vanity Fair cover: “The cover is perfect. I'm so proud. I'm glad she can be herself finally. I'm so happy it's out—the suspense. It makes me want to shout out for joy. Absolutely!"
