Mansur Gavriel Confirm They Will Branch Out Into Clothing (Just Not Right Now)

So there’s good news and there’s bad….

The good? Mansur Gavriel - the brand which brought us* that* bucket bag - will be branching out into clothing! The bad? It’s probably not going to be anytime soon.

The designers and founders Rachel Mansur and Floriana Gavriel have confirmed that they will be branching out into clothing after they sported their own designs at Monday night’s CFDAs.

The duo wore coordinating collared dresses with suede clutches and matching shoes – all of which they designed themselves – to accept their Swarovski Award for Accessory Design.

They told Style.com: “We have a very specific visual world in mind for the brand, so we were excited for the opportunity to create our own looks for the evening. We made the dresses in Italy, as well as our shoes and clutches."

“We’ve been developing clutches, among other things,” they said, confirming that they “do have plans, but not in the immediate future” to launch clothing, as well as more bag styles and shoes."

They also reflected on their big win saying: “We are really touched to receive this positive affirmation. The brand is still so young, and it has grown so quickly. It’s very rewarding to receive a vote of confidence from such an established and respected community."

“We would love to take this opportunity to get to know the community better and continue to develop our brand further.”
