The first trailer for an upcoming documentary about shoe designer Manolo Blahnik has appeared online, with fashion commentators including Anna Wintour, Andre Leon Talley and David Bailey all sharing praise for the 74-year-old.

Synonymous with whimsical yet elegant heels and Sex and the City's Carrie Bradshaw, the designer has been credited with revamping the silhetto heel back in the 1970s, before going on to become one of the most famous cobblers in the world, shoeing the likes of Michelle Obama, Beyonce and Kate Moss.

Manolo: The Boy Who Made Shoes for Lizards, documents his life, from being an outgoing child to finding his passion for footwear, and interviews key figures from the fashion world who have been instrumental to his success.

'He's the king of shoes', model Naomi Campbell gushes, while Anna Wintour claims she wears shoes by no one else. Recent collaborator Rhianna also appears in the trailer, sharing a joke with the designer about how many husbands are grumpy with him about their wives caring more about their shoes than them.
