How To Look Festive This Weekend Without Wearing Everything You Own

ICYMI, it’s December. We’re about 20 days away from Christmas (yes, really) and we still haven't reached peak Richard Curtis-friendly snowy winter weather yet. In fact it's practically warm. But this has its perks: we don’t have to hide our outfits under those big, puffy coats. And with the festive season truly upon us, it’s time to go on a break from the love affair you’ve had with layers. Here’s how to keep warm without wearing everything in your wardrobe, as demonstrated by Instagram.

Francesca

Ditch the tights and brave the cold by wearing a skirt with a bold print. You might start shivering by evening, but at least you'll look cute. Oh, and add a fluffy coat to your ensemble if you want your mates to keep touching it - we've all been there.

Julie Sarinana

This weather means you can dig out your thigh-high split skirt and embrace every moment. Pair it with a comfy turtleneck and some Chelsea boots this weekend for the dream look.

Shalina Pappas

If you’re going for an all black outfit, adding lace will make it look like you made an effort. Oh, and who said pale flats were only for summer?

Debbie Shasanya

If you want to get dolled up but you’re not really feeling the short skirt vibe, go for a longer one. Add an oversized faux fur scarf to the mix, like this one from Asos.

Linn Hansson

If you haven’t noticed yet, long coats are in. Whether you’re going for casual or dressy, one of these bad boys will complete your look.

Pandora Sykes

Wear a short skirt with some long boots this weekend (bonus points if you can pull it off like Pandora). Pair with a lace blouse (or wooly jumper) and you’ll want to take lift selfies all night long.

Alex Stedman

If you want a more bohemian look but don’t know how to do it in this weather, make like Alex Stedman and pair your outfit with a faux fur patchwork overcoat. You can find the same one at M&S.
