As one of the few female womenswear designers, Roksanda can always be relied upon to make clothes that we actually want in our wardrobes. This season was no different, with the London Fashion Week favourite showing a collection of chic summer options to take you from board meeting to beach bar.
The show opened with a series of off-white, beige and caramel dresses before graduating to her signature jewel-toned silk ankle-skimmers, often layered over trousers. There were flashes of colour throughout - whether it was the yellow lining of a cream tunic, or a baby blue rope belt, while bags were also in vivid shades of Pepto Bismal pink and cornflower blue.
Except for Hibiscus and vine prints on blue and coral pant suits and beige linen panels on black culottes, this was a simple collection, that relied on silhouette and cut rather than fussy detail. Not that it was sparse; light, floral appliques in tulle fluttered on sheer skirts, while tonal beading added embellishment to a simple column dress and tassels cropped up again and again.
And the dress everyone will want? The finale look, which was an elegant floor-length, high-neck number in Barbie pink, which featured sunflower appliques.
