Lily James: Best Red Carpet Fashion Moments

Over the past couple of years there has been a buzz around Lily James: the star of Disney’s live-action film Cinderella (2015) and now the face of My Burberry Black.

Lily Chloe Ninette Thomson was born in Esher, Surrey, and is now 27-years-old. She started her acting career at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London - the school Orlando Bloom, Daniel Craig and Ewan McGregor also attended. After several roles in theatre and on TV (including playing Poppy in Secret Diary of a Call Girl (2011) alongside Billie Piper), her big break was on Downton Abbey (2012-2015) as Lady Rose MacClare.

As well as other high-profile acting credits, such as playing Elizabeth Bennet in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (2016) and Natasha Rostova in the BBC historial drama War & Peace (2016), she is the new face of My Burberry and starred in The Tale of Thomas Burberry campaign film short with Domhnall Gleeson and Sienna Miller. She is currently filming Darkest Hour - a film about Winston Churchill - set to be released in 2017.

Lily has also been romantically linked to former star of Doctor Who Matt Smith since 2014. See Lily James and Matt Smith’s relationship timeline here

Lily has also become undoubtedly well-versed in the art of red-carpet dressing since she shot to Hollywood stardom, so we take a look at her best red-carpet style moments.

Lily is as much a princess on the red-carpet as Cinderella becomes when she marries Prince Charming. Her luxury designer gowns are the modern-day fairytale; pastel colours and ball-gown skirts adorned with a sprinkling of jewels. She was the belle of the ball, often accompanied by her Prince, Matt Smith. All that was missing was a tiara.

Her favourite designers include Dior, Erdem, Elie Saab and, of course, Burberry.
