London Fashion Week is a lie. There, I said it. It’s not seven days of unadulterated fashion; it’s just five days jam-packed with a week’s worth of shows, presentations and parties. Like the schedule itself, the street style stars of the city shoehorn in as many trends, colours, prints and namedrop-worthy designers as they can in this small amount of time. Homegrown label Marques’ Almeida proves to reign supreme on the streets and Gucci has the accessories market cornered. But, unlike previous years, there are fewer peacocks prancing outside catwalk entrances, instead many are taking a more subtle approach to dressing. Heaps of girls (and boys) have swapped heels for hoodies and slinky numbers for sportswear. Scroll on for instant outfit inspiration…
1. Lesson 101 In How To Make Everyone Envious Of Your Auburn Hair
Make your hair work as hard as your outfit with a clashing hoodie. If, like this showgoer, your a fiery redhead then offset your auburn with Pepto Bismal pink. If you're hair's edging towards Emily Strange levels of black, pick a white sweatshirt. But, if you're blonde (bottle or not - no judgement either way) then consider a fluoro zing, like Tango orange or a tangy lime green.
2. Zero Denier or Fishnets, Those Are The Only Two Options

When the weather is springlike, as it was this weekend, any denier higher than fishnet can look heavy. Rina Sawayama added a bad girl edge to her prim silk dress with her box fresh Converse and mesh tights.
3. Join The Fray
As much as we love frayed denim, it's everywhere right now. Refresh the trend by teaming it with a tailored coat and a fun faux fluff like this showgoer. It's an unexpected combination, but the textures really compliment one another.
4. When In Doubt, Just Do It
Off-duty models are easy to spot, thanks to their uniform of skinny jeans, leather jackets and enviable sportswear. This model leaving the British Fashion Council's show space ticked all the right boxes with her sweatshirt and shearling leather.
5. When It Comes To Tailoring Right Now, The Bigger The Better
Blame Vetements for this one. Ever since the French fashion house started exercising proportions, blazers have grown ginormous power shoulders and trousers have bloomed into architectural shapes. We love how this showgoer has balanced out her oversized chinos with a fitted rib top.
