Election fever might be gripping Great Britain right now but who'd have thought the political mood would infiltrate the latest collab from & Other Stories?
Lena Dunham has teamed up with queen of quirky-cute fashion - and sister of her boyfriend Jack- Rachel Antonoff to make a film to celebrate the designer’s forthcoming & Other Stories collection. Ruby Sparks star Zoe Kazan takes the leading role in the video entitled ‘Vote Audry’. The teaser was released today ahead of the full film on May 7th which is very conveniently polling day in the UK. The full collection will hit & Other Stories stores on 12th May.
It seems like Audry is the latest character conjured by Antonoff as a muse for her collaboration. For her own brand AW15 offering, it was all about ‘Fern’ a geeky high school student while SS15 charted the beyond-the-grave adventures of a girl called ‘Tuesday’.
The 14 second-teaser offers few clues about what we can expect from Rachel Antonoff x & Other Stories, apart from the hint that it will cater for 'the wardrobe needs of a woman in the midst of running for a campaign'. Naturally then, we’ve taken a far-fetched approach to interpreting the nuggets on offer. Kazan wears a black and white striped suit with endearing square-framed glasses; a quick search shows that one Hillary Clinton was also once photographed wearing a very similar pair of striped trousers. Perhaps it’s no coincidence that the rumour mill is also in overdrive about an imminent announcement that Clinton will run for President.
Whether we’re reading way too much into the political leanings of the film, it’s sure to provide a much-needed fresh dose of Lena Dunham genius now that Girls series 4 is over.
