Old favourite Lands' End has undergone a revamp. Canvas is the freshly curated line to launch for SS16 under the direction of new CEO Federica Marchionni. With bold brushstroke prints and monochrome maxi dresses, the collection is a more trend orientated take from the brand. As head of Dolce and Gabbana for four years, Marchionni certainly knows what she’s doing, and her debut line has definitely got us talking.
‘When I first started at Lands’ End, I was being asked by many people to bring back the Lands’ End Canvas collection,’ said Marchionni in a press statement. ‘When we began to design this exciting new collection, the name, Canvas by Lands’ End, was a perfect choice. The line, inspired by the freedom of artistic expression, features a white label symbolizing the ability to personally create one’s own canvas.’
That it does - with dresses splattered in primary paint prints to more minimalist swimwear, there’s something to suit every sartorial persona. The line stays true to Lands’ End’s traditional values, with high quality designs and fabrics, yet the carefully curated pieces are juxtaposed with the unexpected. The collection this time offers tailored silhouettes, leaner shapes and more versatile pieces for the ultimate interchangeable summer wardrobe.
The SS16 line is bang on trend with off the shoulder blouses, smock tops and stripes. Tick every sartorial box and shop the collection online now at Canvas by Lands' End.
