Lady Gaga has certainly found her Prince Charming in Taylor Kinney. Her husband-to-be has surprised her with not one, but three pairs of iconic Armadillo boots featured in the late Alexander McQueen's final SS10 show.
Gaga famously wore the almost-impossible-to-walk-in heels in her Bad Romance video in 2010, but even she's been unable to call a pair her own. Until now that is.
Only 21 pairs of the vertiginous shoe boots were made - making them some of the rarest heels ever - and three specially-made pairs went up for auction at Christie's to raise money for Unicef's Nepal Earthquake Appeal last week. We've now learned that all three pairs were snapped up by Gaga's fiancé for a staggering £200,000. What a guy.
Gaga modelled her new shoes in a series of Instagram snaps and gave a shout out to Taylor via Instagram, writing: "When a gift comes to you from Heaven photo by Taylor Kinney best fiancé ever."
In a piece for V Magazine, Gaga has outlined how much the shoes mean to her, as a reminder of her relationship with McQueen: "These shoes are the only tangible piece I have left of our work together."
