Here Are The Best Dressed Guests At The King’s Coronation

It’s not every day that you get to attend a coronation, so when the moment comes, it’s all or nothing. And when King Charles III invites you to his celebrations, you dress up to the nines. Guests followed the invitation, commencing last night with a reception for overseas guests at Buckingham Palace, delivering a best in show of royal style. Arrivals pre-empted the elegant looks we got to see during the historic ceremony today.

But it wasn’t all pompous gowns and tiaras. The guests have been asked to dress down, breaking with royal tradition but keeping in line with the king’s wish to have his coronation not look like an outdated, ostentatious affair. It’s a dressing down of the finery, with an absence of tiaras, but fascinators instead, and 'Morning Dress, Lounge Suit or National Dress' for the male guests, according to the official invite. Needless, to say, we still got to see a bit of dazzle in London’s drizzling rain.
