For Kim Kardashian, fashion is typically a megaphone for her personality - loud, unapologetic and undeniably out of the box. But at the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar party, she turned those expectations on their head, embracing a stripped-back look and (dare I say it) proving that ‘less is more'.
Departing from her signature ‘I’m here’ trademark, Kardashian's look for the evening was extremely fresh. The star stood on the red carpet in a corseted ballgown dress from Balenciaga Haute Couture and, as she moved, it revealed a more figure-hugging element, which is very much ‘Kim’.

While this his isn’t her first Balenciaga moment, her pervious looks over the years spoke to her usual statement-making style. At the 2024 Vanity Fair party, she stunned in a daring body-con dress by the same house, and in 2022, she made waves in a neon blue, floor-length number.
What truly set this year's look apart was her bold decision to go entirely jewellery-free - no earrings, no necklace, no bracelets, no rings. Could this be the start of a subtle rebrand for Kim? Following the resurfaced Met Gala video in which she struggled to breathe in a corset, even admitting she felt like she was going to die, perhaps Kim is signalling that she’s tired of restrictive fashion.

This shift might mark a turning point in her style - comfort.
