It seems we’re not the only ones struggling to come to terms with the fact that this season of Mad Men is the last ever. In a new interview for Scene magazine Kiernan Shipka, who plays Sally Draper in the show, has admitted she feels pretty weird about waving goodbye to Madison Avenue.

'I can't quite put into words how odd it feels to be ending,’ she said, adding: 'But at the same time I saw this quote that said, "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened," and I'm trying to apply that as much as I can.'

Kiernan, now 14, joined the show when she was just six years old – and we’ve seen her grow from a cute kid to a style savvy teen. In fact, Kiernan credits the show for teaching her about fashion. 'I totally owe my love of fashion to Mad Men,' she said. 'I got very inspired by the clothes that costume designer Janie [Bryant] put together.'

In the interview, Kiernan confesses her celebrity crush is our own Prince Harry, and her favourite band is Haim. She also admits that people often get her muddled up with her on screen character. 'People come up to me and talk about how awful my parents are,' she says. 'I think it’s cool to play someone people relate to and love so much that they think you really are that great.'
