Frank Spadafora, a former casting director and the founder and CEO of D’Marie Archive (a social media analytics company), has revealed in an interview with CR Fashion BOOK the huge sums of money that some of our favourite models make via social media.
Spadafora disclosed that top models can look to make between $125,000 and $300,000 for a single post - that’s roughly £80,000 to £300,000. Blimey - who knew selfies could be quite so lucrative?
According to Spadafora, the supers making the biggest bucks are - you guessed it - Kendall, Cara and Gigi.
Whereas the next tier— the likes of Karlie Kloss, Behati Prinsloo, and Miranda Kerr—can command between $25,000 to $50,000 (approx £17,000 - £34,000) for a single upload. And it’s not just Instagram where these models are cashing in, they can charge similar rates across Facebook and Twitter too.
Spadafora explained how the rise of social media has in fact completely changed the way models earn their dollar. "We are still in the process of educating our clients to increase their social media rate, but some of our models actually have the potential to earn more per post than their normal day rate," he said.
Time for a career change, anyone?
