Katie Price is hyper-femininity at its hot-pink best. The nails, the hair, the boobs, the fact that she dolls her horses up in pink and drives a similarly pink car.
That’s why it was an absolute marvel to see Price opening London Fashion Week, not as herself, but in an androgynous suit with a big floppy bow tie. And when we say androgynous, we don’t mean a shirt with a cinched in waist and her hair all big - we mean properly Bianca Jagger-style hair slicked back, minimal make-up (apart from a bright red lippie), big leopard-print Givenchy earrings and an up-and-down black-and-white tuxedo suit.
She told MailOnline of her makeover: ‘I was totally up for the team giving me a new different look for the catwalk'.
But just in case the idea of Katie Price dressing like Jessie Ware might throw you, it does seem like it’s a one-off. Why would she do such a thing? Well, charity! Pricey, who used to be known as Jordan, was doing it for Fashion for Relief. The show, which is hosted by Naomi Campbell, was done this year to raise funds to help tackle the Ebola outbreak in West Africa.
Jourdan Dunn, Pixie Lott, Caroline Flack, Laura Whitmore, Sarah Jane Crawford, Daisy Lowe, Nicola Roberts, Katie Piper, Alesha Dixon, Georgia May Jagger, The Duchess of York (that’s Fergie to most of us), Alice Dellal, Dame Vivienne Westwood (who donated outfits to the show), Jade Parfitt, Bruno Tonioli and Viktoria Modesta, the world’s first amputee model, all walked for the show. Oh, and of course, Naomi went along too.
Outfits came courtesy of Dame Viv, Dolce & Gabbana, Givenchy, Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, Balmain and Versace. Which is pretty good going, but then again, with Naomi’s star power, it’s little wonder.
