Fashion campaigns barely raise an eyebrow these days, so ubiquitous are they and so saturated are we by images in general. So, it's something of a coup that Giorgio Armani's autumn/winter campaign has stirred the upmost excitement in the Grazia office. This is because the brand has tapped Kate Moss for its autumn/winter campaign. Yes, she’s been on the cover of Vogue more than any other supermodel and, yes, she’s pretty much a national treasure, but the woman hasn’t run out of firsts. This is her inaugural outing as the face of the Italian brand, which rarely chooses a big name to front its campaigns.
Boy, was it worth the wait. Shot by photographs Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott, frequent collaborators with both Armani and Kate, Moss looks virtually unrecognisable in her short, choppy blonde wig. And she's got a fringe. A fringe!
In terms of the clothes, they are Giorgio Armani at its classic best. One shot shows Moss in a houndstooth trouser suit, while in another she’s wearing a column gown that shimmers with black sequins. While she's been the face of almost every fashion house we can think of, it's still something of a thrill to see the supermodel star in fresh, new global campaigns.
