Kate Middleton Just Wore A Reiss Coat First Seen On Her 26th Birthday (And You Can Buy The New Version)

The Duchess of Cambridge has proved that it's worth hanging on to your favourite wardrobe pieces as she chose a Reiss coat that she first worn on her 26th birthday in 2008. With her husband, Kate was visiting Jigsaw, a mental health charity, as part of the second day of their tour of Ireland.

Kate kept the rest of her outfit simple, opting for black skinny jeans, black boots and a polka dot blouse from Equipment that she's also worn previously. While Kate's coat is obviously no longer in stock, Reiss has update the original style for this season. The blouse, meanwhile, is selling fast but is still available in some sizes.

The Duchess continues to prove her loyalty to the high street. Visiting a lifeboat station with her husband in South Wales last month, Kate chose a Maxi Coat from Hobbs, which is currently in the sale for £259 and is still available in some sizes (but probably not for long).

She also wore yet another Zara dress, opting for a red knitted style with puff sleeves. As an advocate for recycling outfits, it's no surprise that this is an old season style but keep an eye on eBay, where a couple have just sold for £49.99.

The rest of her look included boots by Stuart Weitzman, a red clutch bag from Mulberry, a red and white printed scarf from Beulah London and earrings from Asprey.

This wasn't the first time Kate chose Zara for an official engagement, either. For a recent visit to the Ely and Careau Children’s Centre in Cardiff, Kate chose a pleated, leopard-printed skirt by Zara. The ‘midaxi’ style has now sold out, but was £29.99 reduced to £10 in the sale.

She paired this skirt with a camel coat from Massimo Dutti, echoing Meghan's look for her last official royal duty. The coat, too, is in the sale, suggesting that Kate has been taking advantage of the new year sales.

Then, on January 15, amid the ongoing drama of Megxit, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived in Bradford, where they were met by a huge crowd of very excited fans. For the occasion, Kate wore an excellent khaki coat by Alexander McQueen, paired with Aspinal's Mayfair bag and black block heels by Gianvito Rossi. Her earrings were the£8 gold pair from Zeen that Kate first wore during her tour of Pakistan last year.

So far, so expected. Then, however, Kate proved that not even being a Duchess renders you immune to the irresistible lure of that great high street behemoth: Zara. Visiting MyLahore, a local restaurant, Kate removed her McQueen coat to reveal a houndstooth print dress that was £90 from Zara. I say was because it has more recently been on sale for £15.99 in the sale, a fact which has surely contributed to its sold-out status.

There's no doubt that Kate's style has changed of late, albeit it subtly. While her favourite designers like McQueen, Emilia Wickstead and Erdem remain, she – along with her stylist Natasha Archer – has also been opting for more unknown labels that illustrate an insider's fashion knowledge. Ahead of her tour of Pakistan, for example, Kate wore a green silk dress by ARoss Girl x Soler, an under-the-radar collaboration between two British brands.

There have also been Gucci gowns, Mulberry coats and a very canny display of diplomatic dressing during the Pakistan tour, proving that what you wear really can speak volumes.
