It seems like only yesterday when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were embarking on their royal tour of Africa. During that time, Meghan Markle wore a series of mostly sustainable dresses, most of which sold out as quickly as you might expect. Now, it's the turn of Kate and William, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, to undertake their own royal tour of Pakistan. It marks the first royal visit to the Islamic country in 13 years and Kensington Palace referred to it as 'the most complex tour undertaken by the couple to date, given the logistical and security considerations.'
While on tour, Kate Middleton has displayed a very diplomatic wardrobe, which includes a series of beautiful designs that are all a variation of traditional Pakistani styles.
For her arrival in Pakistan, for example, Kate wore her take on the shalwar kameez – a traditional dress and trousers combination. Designed by Catherine Walker, the beautiful aqua creation was paired with nude court shoes and a clutch by Zeen.
Kate – and her stylist – have also turned to Pakistani's leading fashion designer, Maheen Khan. During a visit to the Islamabad Model College in Pakistan, for example, Kate wore a traditional blue kurta and asymmetric dupatta, both created by Khan. Perhaps surprisingly, Kate wore the outfit with nude shoes from none other than New Look. They are, of course, sold out, but can still be bought in blackhere.
For her first evening engagement, Kate turned once more to Jenny Packham, wearing an emerald green gown as she and William arrived at Pakistan's National Monument in a Tuk Tuk. William wore a traditional Sherwani – a traditional, long coat worn for formal occasions.
On day three, Kate and William arrived in the Chitral district in Pakistan, near the Afghan border. On arrival, the pair were given gifts – William an embroidered coat, while Kate received a shawl and a traditional Chitrali hat. Princess Diana also wore the hat when she visited the region in 1991, a trip which was recorded in a book presented to William and Kate.
Kate went for a practical outfit for the trip – she was wearing a suede waistcoat and brown boots, both from Really Wild, both of which she has worn before. The good news – for all K-Mid superfans – is that both items are still available to buy. The pair then headed into a village in a valley in Chitral, where Kate showed was wearing gold Missoma earrings - which you can stillbuy now for £115.
On Thursday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived at Lahore Airport to meet the city's governor, as they made their way to visit a cancer hospital (which was visited by Diana in the year before her death). For the visit, Kate wore an all-white outfit, wearing a shalwar kameez by Gul Ahmed and a shawl by Maheem Khan. She accessorised with Asprey London earrings, a blush coloured clutch by Mulberry – and suede heels by Gianvito Rossi, which you can get for £433 here.
For her fourth engagement of the fourth day, Kate looked sensational in a turquoise shalwar kameez by Maheen Khan. Like the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall in 2006, the Duke and Duchess met faith leaders at Badshahi Mosque and heard how they are promoting interfaith harmony between communities.
On the last day of the tour, the Duke and Duchess will visitthe Army Canine Centre before their departure back to London. For the trip back to Islamabad (after their plane was caught in an electrical storm last night), Kate wore a black and white embroidered kurta by Pakistani brand Elan with white trousers.
