Karlie Kloss certainly made an entrance - or should that be exit - as she greeted the photographers who had swarmed outside The Mark Hotel, the official 'getting ready' venue ahead of the biggest night in fashion, the Met Gala. Escorted by her husband Joshua Kushner, who swiftly stepped to the side, Karlie received cries of 'Congratulations!' as she turned to the side and revealed, not only a perfectly tied black ribbon around her ponytail in the style of Karl Lagerfeld, but also her baby bump.
The supermodel chose a gown by Loewe, the house helmed by Jonathan Anderson, and, with its simple yet striking silhouette, proved that you don't have to do outlandish to turn heads at the Met Gala (although that works, too, see Doja Cat, Jared Leto and Lil Nas X). Accessorising with a generous lashing of pearls, both around her hips and neck, as well as the aforementioned bow, the whole look referenced the late designer's wardrobe without tipping into the realm of costume. 10/10.
