If we had a list of dream wardrobes that we would like to raid, former J Crew creative director Jenna Lyons would score highly.

The woman credited with creating J Crew’s signature preppy style left the brand after 27 years with them in 2017, and in that time she amassed quite the collection of J Crew pieces as well as designer items. Now, she’s selling 187 pieces on designer resale site TheRealReal.

‘I have lived and breathed clothes for the past 31 years,’ Lyons explained. ‘Four of them in college, 27 with J.Crew and Madewell. I love clothes. I’ve collected for years.

‘Each piece represents a memory, an event marked,’ she continued. ‘I found myself holding on to the clothes for the meaning and not spending enough time actually wearing them. My body has changed, my mind has changed, and it seemed that this was a good time in my life as I think about next steps—to let someone else love them.’

Pieces in the sale include a red asymmetrical Prada gown, a pink Miu Miu shearling coat and snakeskin Christian Louboutin pumps, as well as J Crew coats, dresses and skirts. Numerous pieces have already sold, so be quick if you want a piece of Lyons' wardrobe!
