If, like us, you haven't thought about patchwork jeans since the heady days of the early noughties when Britney was busy singing about not quite being a woman yet, it's time to take a trip to Gap and get on board again. This time around though, it's not about wearing them with glittery Abercrombie sawn-off tees and copious amounts of Clinique Air Kiss. (But side note: how sophisticated did that make everyone feel?) It's about channeling the Junya Watanabe Comme des Garcons ones everyone on every street style blog ever has worn and continues to wear.

Gap have some patched jeans that at £49.95 are "practical" and "affordable" enough that you might be able to persuade your mum/generous gran to get you. Or, you know, as you're a sassy independent woman, you could just get yourself.
