Stop looking so incredulous, we know you know how to physically put a pair of trousers upon your form. But the essence of the trouser can be hard to regain after a summer of legs-out partying. Sob sob.

So here's some inspo, from Instagram, to help you clothe your legs, once again. Some new trends and some old favourites: just the way we like it.

The big bold badass suit

As blogger Camille Charriere shows, it's a new frontier for of suitdom. They are unapologetically bold, slick as Le Smoking. Wear with a toss of hair that says, 'yes, autumn is here - and no, I do not give a fuck.'

Eaaase yourself in

Ease being the operative word. Slouchy, stripey trousers are less PJ more easy-breezy power dressing, when you add a rocky tee and some scuffed leather boots. This is what we want to be wearing right now.

Just because summer is over...

.... Doesn't hafta mean that the colour disappears from your wardrobe. Channel model Ellie Fox - behind-the-scenes of a coming-soon Debrief shoot no less - in some slick pink pants to offset a cherry red tee.

Go normcore down bottom and party up top

Have a total party with your favourite boyfriend jeans and worn-in Gazelles - teamed with a patterned blouse up top. Mexican blouses aren't just for the summer; choose a coloured one with long blouson sleeves. And you're never ever going to forget how to put your jeans on.

Dare to flare

Flares are back. Don't be scared! The easiest way to wear them? In black denim. To bring them up to the modern, pair with trainers and a tunic dress, like blogger Trine's H&M Studio one, coming out soon.
