Clothes to take you from summer to autumn. That's what you need right now. Amirite? Lovely as they are, you don't need thick faux fur jacket and suede thigh high boots; or chunky knitted co-ords, nor cashmere flares. What you need is some breezy outfit inspiration; because whilst there is a little chill in the air on occasions - it's also pretty clement (and there's a word that's underused) a lot of the time.

Here's some epic trans-seasonal inspo to take you from season to season, mined from Instagram. And no bobbly opaques in sight.
Go full on sixties babe
You can always count on insouciant French sasspot and model Camille Rowe for some alt inspiration; whilst everyone else is doing Scandi sports luxe (think Nike Free Runs, shirts and trenches) Camille eases us into autumn with some sixties-vibe knee high boots, a cheery smock and a skinny scarf. The long leather will keep your gams warm, whilst a cape thrown over the top of it all will warm you right up, should you need at night.
Go simple with the elements and complex with the details
The most stream-lined look we've potentially ever seen Leandra Medine in before; but the key is in the detail. The black knit is textured, the A-Line skirt is embroidered, thebox clutch is boldly striped. Bare legs mean you're always going to well-vented, whilst this particular sweater/skirt silhouette is one that works on almost everyone.
Tie something around your waist for later
A handy little micro-trend, is this; model and blogger Irene opts for futuristic monochrome in a grey fray-hemmed pleated midi skirt, chunky contrast-lace platform boots and a cartoon-print sweater, all grunged up with a pale blue boyfriend shirt around her waist. It's an interesting note on layers - a big thing right now - but also there for later if she needs to slip it underneath her sweater.
Go chic in a shirt and flats
A white shirt, tailored shorts and black and white pointed flats is ineffably chic; almost a little dull. But blogger and stylist Pernille's boxy graphic poloneck and hair tuck keeps things interesting - and if she whips off her sweater she has a fail-safe smart look which is super easy for busy work times.
An oldie but a goodie
Black jumpsuits, the ubiquitous Nike sneaks and a camel trench aren't re-writing the rule book, but fashion editor Katherine does it so well. A leopard clutch halts the minimalist cliché and injects a bit of quirky attitude.
