House of Holland showed at London Fashion Weektoday a joyful collection of miniskirts, fluffy sandals and pirate hats (yes, really). However, our eyes kept glancing passed the beautiful models to land on Alexa Chung.

While the girls walked out in op-art printed dresses and shirts with bumbags swung under their arms, Alexa sat front row (of course) in a simple, yet beguiling outfit. The models were dressed to the nines in Devoré velvet, tailored sportswear and space-age specs while Alexa was dressed simply in jeans and a shirt. Though her look wasn’t as loud or trendsetting as Henry Holland’s clothes, it was everything we want to wear now.

With the weather in flux – thanks, late summer, or is that early autumn? – Alexa had the right idea wearing a pair of well-cut jeans and a shirt warm enough to not need a jacket. Her leather Victoriana collar blouse was from J.W. Anderson and costs a cool £1,280. Its high-shine and total inability to crease meant it was camera-(or is that Instagram-) ready from every angle. She tucked it into mid-rise dark denim trousers and abbreviated black patent boots. Stylish, easy and possible to recreate on the high street. Thanks, Alexa!

For those curious, Alexa sat sandwiched between Harley Viera-Newton and Pixie Geldof, with Nick Grimshaw bringing up the rear, as they watched their friend Henry Holland's show. They all whooped and cheered as the cast of models, which included muse-of-the-moment Duckie Thot, took the runway to 90s rave tunes and The Streets. Fittingly, considering the set was a pirate ship, the opening look of the spring summer 2018 collection was a white hoodie printed with the words 'Original Pirate Material' that was worn with an asymmetric wave-printed skirt, high socks and decorated green sandals.
