Heist makes such good tights that many brands have raised the stakes to try and keep up. I know this because those brands have told me as much, stressing that people now want a higher waistband, the promise of a ladder-free life and a silky finish. While Heist's products have always been brilliant, today sees the launch of the brand's first sustainable tights – and they're just in time for party season.
The Fishnet is the latest recruit. Not only are they made from recycled materials, the way they're made also uses less water and produces a lower amount of CO2. In terms of the material, it includes over 86% of recycled waste, including a sustainable form of nylon. They still have the brand's signature hand-sewn, adaptive waistband, which basically means they never roll over or dig in (I can personally attest to this).
It's good timing, too. While tights are, for most of us, the crux of our cold weather wardrobes, they have also been givenfashion's stamp of approvalthanks to a host of new hosiery on the catwalks. From Gucci's logo tights to Versace's colourful lace, your old black opaques have been significantly upgraded this season.
That's not to say, however, that we should overlook the brilliance of black tights. But with Heist's new fishnets and a wealth of jazzy options on offer, you can make any outfit instantly more interesting – and with zero effort. Music to my ears as we head towards a time of year to which some refer as 'party season'. I prefer to call it 'No sorry, I'm busy tonight.' This, of course, may all change this year, if I'm armed (legged?) with a pair of Heist's fishnets. Not only will I look great, I can brag about my sustainable credentials.
