Since Victoria Beckham decamped from New York Fashion Week back to London last year, she's been a highlight on the LFW schedule. This is not just thanks to her sleek tailoring and feminine aesthetic – it's also because the show draws an A-list crowd that includes excellent sightings of the entire Beckham clan, all supporting VB from the front row. This season was, of course, no exception.
David, dressed in a Dior suit designed by Kim Jones, sat amongst his four children on the front row at the breathtaking venue of Durbar Court, while Harper chatted happily to Anna Wintour. Prior to the show, VBuploaded a picture of herself with Harper, her 'Number one guest', who was wearing a long floral dress with her hair in a bun. She also posed backstage with VB's cast of models, which included Adut Akech, which Victoria also documented on Instagram with the hashtag #HarperSeven.
Helen Mirren sat next to Billy Porter (the two held hands as they talked) while Maya Jama, Laura Bailey and Susie Bubble were also in attendance.
David posted a series of Stories during the show, even zooming in on Helen Mirren at one point as she watched the show from across the other side of the room. He also captured a sweet photograph of Harper giving her mother a congratulatory hug afterwards.
It's been a busy week for VB, who launched her first-ever beauty collection just yesterday. Backstage at today's show, make-up legend Pat McGrath used VB's new products on the models, which included the Smoky Eye Brick palette and Lid Lustre.
In terms of the clothes, there were strong nods to the 1970s seen in the form of mis-matched suits – colourful trousers worn with checked jackets, which in turn were layered over wide-collar shirts and polo necks.
The dresses were realised in the bright shades seen peppered throughout the tailoring; a rich purple midi featured a ruffled neckline and asymmetric, ruffled hem, while bright yellow and green gowns followed.
Extinction Rebellion were protesting fashion's impact on the environment outside the show, as they had promised to do a few months ago. Whether or not their presence will encourage designers to take a greater stand on the issue of sustainability remains to be seen but it certainly did not seem to dampen spirits at Victoria Beckham's show.
