Happy birthday to Gigi Hadid, who turns 20 today!
This year has been a great one for Gigi. Aged 19, she modelled for everyone from Maybelline to Victoria’s Secret, was part of Kendall Jenner’s Coachella clique, stormed the catwalks of New York and Milan fashion week, and cooked in Taylor Swift’s kitchen. The model certainly saw off her teenage years in style.
Gigi's boyfriend, Cody Simpson, tweeted a sweet message to wish Gigi a happy birthday. "Happy birthday to my best mate @gigihadid. You are a WOMAN of soul and substance..I love you!" he wrote.
While she might be lamenting the loss of her teen status, the model tweeted to say that she was savouring her last days as a 19-year-old “Holding on to my teens for as long as I can! hahaa T-3 days!” she wrote, the star has a pretty mature approach when it comes to her birthday presents.
Instead of asking for the bags or clothes you might expect a 20-year-old model to request, Gigi has decided to use her birthday gifts to give back to the community.
“For my bday I asked for @McDonalds (or other food) gift cards to keep in my wallet to give to those I pass on the streets of NYC” she wrote on Twitter, “& elsewhere that are in need of a meal. I don’t always carry cash & it’s nice to know it’ll be put to good use” she continued. “Thanks @CodySimpson for the first batch!!!!” she wrote, thanking her boyfriend for kicking off the good-will gifts.
Here's to you Gigi, have a happy birthday! We have a feeling the next year's going to be even bigger.
