After getting engaged in Venice, Arthur Guinness and Shrimps designer Hannah Weiland wed this weekend at her family home, Belcombe Court in Stratford-On-Avon. It’s of little surprise that the woman who made faux fur fashionable, who has dressed Alexa Chung and is personally responsible for the current beaded micro bag trend, threw a stylish wedding.

With Guinness by her side, the designer chose a romantic cream lace gown with a high frilled neck, tiered skirt and gathered sleeves for the nuptials and reception. The full skirt was matched by a generous white veil and off-set by a glorious bouquet by Scarlet & Violet. Meanwhile, the groom wore a grey suit and blue tie for the ceremony. After the pair said their vows they walked down the aisles with their pet poodle, Lionel McGruff, before emerging from the picturesque church as the attendees showered the couple with petals.

As expected, the newlyweds weren’t the only well-dressed couple in attendance. Glamorous guests included Laura Jackson in a gold and black Cecile Bahnsen dress, Molly Goddard in an outfit of her own design, Kate Foley in Valentino, Ellie Pithers, Laura Bailey, Alexandra Schulman and Penelope Chilvers.

Naturally, for a brewing heir, the bar was no ordinary affair, in fact, it was a pop-up pub named Arthur’s Arms. Though the menu was limited - Champagne and Guinness - with the help of creative consultant Matilda Goad it became and Instagram goldmine. Outside the pub was a bohemian marquee filled with tables festooned with candles, shell accessories and flowers from florist Wetherly. The menu was designed and cooked by Rochelle Canteen’s Margot Henderson and the cake, which was courtesy of bakers Lily Vanilli, was finished with knitted cake toppers of the couple and their dog.

The next day as hangover set in, guests lounged by the pool and enjoyed a Mexican brunch. As the morning turned into early evening attendees played games of bowls before the weekend came to a close.
