It's been a long old month but, at last, pay-day is on the horizon. For a little January retail therapy we've been checking what the high-street has to offer right now. Up first is H&M and it's seriously stylish new collection, not to mention the H&M sale which is now up to a whopping 70% off - time to nab yourself a bargain, perhaps?

Up first on our must-have list is the new-in H&M trench coat, coming in at a steal for £39.99 this is a transitional wardrobe essential you'll wear year on year. If you're looking for cost-per-wear value this is one not to miss. Next up is a pair of checked beige trousers with just the right amount of flare, now down 72% at just £7 these are a sartorial steal if you ask us.

As we head into that tricky transitional dressing period, between the depths of winter and the blissful beginning on spring, now's the time to invest in all those bits that will work for now and the warmer months ahead. Lightweight sweaters, for example, are great to adding extra warmth whilst it's freezing then make the perfect layer for balmy springtime evenings. Look for colours that will go with everything to make your wardrobe work harder, H&M have plenty of 'greige' which, admittedly, doesn't sound too appealing but is a great shade that looks expensive and goes with basically anything.

H&M also have really upped their footwear game of late. We've been admiring a perfect pair of ballet pumps but the store also has plenty of seriously good loafers we recommend adding to your collection.
