H&M is undisputed master of the high-street fashion collaboration. From Stella McCartney in 2005 to Giambattista Valli earlier this year, we’re constantly on the alert for what’s next.
Enter Pringle of Scotland. The heritage label best known for its luxurious knitwear. Instantly recognisable diamond-patterned sweaters, in particular, gained cult status over the years, thanks to their popularity among royalty, namely Princess Grace of Monaco and our very own Queen Elizabeth II. During the London years, Madonna barely took hers off as she flitted between pilates classes.
So, what can we expect from the collection? There’s a strong athleisure presence throughout (unsurprising given the brand’s historic links to the world of golf) with lots of logo-embellished separates – monochrome leggings, sweaters, t-shirts and hoodies. It’s clear that fabrics have been carefully considered too. Head of Design Womenswear at H&M Maria Östblom says, 'I’m proud that we have managed to employ a range of recycled polyesters, wools and organic cottons.'
Traditional fans of the brand will want in on the highland argyle jumpers (and one brilliant co-ordinating midi skirt – a potentially perfect office piece), not to mention the chunky jacquard roll neck with voluminous grey sleeves. There are accessories, too; branded scarves, beanies and (wait for it) dog sweaters, that will make for fun, affordable stocking fillers this coming festive season.
Prices range from £6.99 - £39.99 and the collection be available in stores and online from 9am, 3 October 2019.
