Molly Goddard’s Big Dress Energy Wins Over Rosamund Pike And Nicola Coughlan At The Golden Globes

It was tulle-tastic.

Reason number 123 to be sad that the Golden Globes, this year's first big award ceremony, was held behind closed doors? The fact that Rosamund Pike, who won for her role in I Care A Lot, and Bridgeton's Nicola Coughlan couldn't have a tulle-tastic red carpet moment together. Their power puff dresses - Pike's in ruby red, Coughlan's in lemony yellow - were by Molly Goddard, the designer who has taken tulle to whole new heights (and widths) in her bid for big dress energy.

Coughlan has already proved she's a master of the promo trail on Zoom - see her frothy frocks from Simone Rocha - and last night, along with stylist Aimée Croysdill, stuck to her guns with Goddard.

Pike, on the other hand, played up the dress's punky side, pairing its netted layers with lace-up stomper boots. In fact, she might have been paying homage to its most famous wearer, Killing Eve's Villanelle. In a moment that was reminiscent of the assassin's, shall we say, unpredictable sense of comic timing, Pike posted a video where she sashayed out of a hotel lift, peered around and nonchalantly high-kicked the fire alarm. You go girl.

'The journey of a Black artist is littered with obstacles in creating, developing and being acknowledged for our work. If we continue to keep silent, the younger generation of artists will have the exact same load to carry. No more excuses. #TIMESUPGlobes #TIMESUP.'
