Sad times for British high street heros M&S this week, as it was announced that our favourite seller of undies and sugary pigs have had another drop in clothing sales. Rather worryingly this marks the 13th quarterly drop for the high street legend, reportedly because of proper winter arriving later in the year than usual. Sales were down by 4% year on year. But with a shiny new revamped website and some sersiously on trend AW14 clothes dropping into store, we reckon there are plenty of reasons to re-visit M&S today. Check out our list of why you will love what's in store now:

**1. There Is Cool Cashmere You Can Actually Afford **

It’s virtually impossible to find a cashmere jumper that doesn’t look like it was made with your nan in mind or doesn't require you to sell an organ to afford. So this colour-block cashmere is a real find - wear it with a leather skirt and knee high boots to work this season’s sixties trend.

Jumper, £103

2. Not All The Skirts Are Mum Friendly

This checked wool mini is another great trend led piece (plaid was all over the AW14 catwalks, don’tcha know) and despite being short, it’s totally practical for winter because it’s made of wool. And you will want to stroke it. Pair with berry toned tights with chunky socks and ankle boots.

Skirt, £28

3. You Can’t Beat Their Pyjamas

We’re totally obsessed with M&S’s pjs because even though they’re super lightweight, you put them on in a cold bedroom and in minutes you’re warm. Head to the men’s section to get our favourite ones, with checks and snuggly fabric. But if you need a sexier bedtime option, there’s also Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s satin numbers. And if they're good enough for Rosie...

Pyjama bottoms, £15.60

4. Their Shoes Are Super Sensible

Don’t scoff at the genius of M&S’s ‘Insolia’ shoes. You might think you’re not interested in boots designed to support your insoles, but try some on, and we guarantee you will never go back. Check out these Acne/Isabel Marant-esque western ankle boots, and rejoice in the fact that M&S do half-sizes, which is the most wonderful thing ever that virtually every other store on the high street ignores.

Boots, £36

5. The Bags Look Way More Expensive Than They Are

Check out this bucket bag. It's made from actual real, squishy leather and looks like expensive snakeskin. Unlike lots of high street handbags, this is guarenteed not to fall apart after six weeks.

Bag, £63.20

6. There Is An Awesome Minimalist Bomber Jacket

While the Autograph range isn't always famed for its fashion credentials, this tan bomber jacket is the ideal shade of brown for working into seventies inspired outfits, and gives space to add a light layer over knitwear without bulking your body up.

Jacket, £79.20
