Giles has never been short of a fabulous A-list following or excellent model casting to make the most of his dramatic dresses, but last night's starry starry showcase has to be up there with some of the best. The runway read like a who’s who in the fashion world: Anna Cleveland – daughter of legendary model Pat Cleveland and one of this season’s hottest tickets – was a whirling dervish in a rococo frockcoat and a ribbon baton she dedicatedly twirled throughout the entire show. There were Jagger sisters – both Lizzy and Georgia May – in front of Jagger mama; Jerry Hall sat on the FROW alongside Giles fave Abbey Clancy, Daisy Lowe, Millie Mackintosh and many more darlings of the business.

Erin O’Connor and Karen Elson were the regal beauties who stole the finale in their jaw-dropping, laser-cut, plissé, gothic gowns – and, like the true professionals they are, they posed, they paused, the made the very most of the clothing they had been placed into. But they weren’t the only experts in the house: Lily Donaldson, Poppy Delevingne, Dree Hemingway and her sister Langley Fox, Bella Hadid, Binx Walton, Irina Shayk, popular new girls Leneisy Montero and Molly Blair… do we really need to go on?

The new guard may have ‘nowness’ practically tattoed across their foreheads, but they were just the ticket for showcasing Giles’ horrible histories – and by horrible we mean spooky and perfectly witchy. From ghostlike foxglove florals printed onto a silky PJ suit (that one went to Edie Campbell) to nightshirts turned into ethereal frocks for day, each of these creations had a tale to tell, we’re sure. Plus the neck ruffs and plenty of ruffles confirmed it: frills are really having a big moment in London.
