Gigi Hadid was the star on the catwalk during fashion month in September, and now she has revealed that she will walk in this year's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show for the first time.
She announced the news on Instagram, writing:"Couldn't keep back my tears!!!! Anyone that grew up with me knows that getting this show has been a dream of mine forever! THANK YOU @victoriassecret & @ed_razek! One of the happiest moments of my life. #vsfashionshow2015 (sic)"
Victoria's Secret posted the moment Gigi found out to Instagram:
She added on Twitter: "I'm so overwhelmed with joy, it won't stop bringing me to tears. Thank you all for your love & support. On cloud nine. #VSFashionShow2015 (sic)" This year the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is back in New York and will take place on the 8th December.
After Milan Fashion Week Gigi Hadid wrote an open letter on Instagram, responding to the negative comments she receives about her body shape. She wrote: 'I represent a body a body image that wasn’t accepted in high-fashion before, and I’m very lucky to be supported by designers, stylists, and editors that I am: ones that know this is fashion, it’s art; it can never stay the same. It’s 2015.'
She added: "No, I don't have the same body type as the other models in shows. No, I don't think I'm the best at any given show. Yes, I want to have a unique walk but I also know I have to improve. No, I'm not the first or the last model of my type in this industry. You can make up all the reasons you think I am where I am, but, really, I'm a hard worker that's confident in myself, one that came at a time when the fashion industry was ready for a change."
