So, we all know who Gigi and Bella Hadid are, but have you heard of their elder half-sister Alana? If not, listen up! Because the stylist and designer is fast making a name for herself, independent of her model sisters.

Having recently launched her own clothes collection, Current Moji (inspired by emojis), she has also modelled her first campaign, the weekend-perfect range for Loft's casual line, Lou & Grey.

Speaking to The Ampersand, the designer/stylist gives an insight into her life as Hadid 'big sis', revealing she has often been called upon to act as style adviser to her younger siblings. "I definitely loan things to my sisters," she says. "Gigi wore one of my custom-made lace gowns to her high school prom, and Bella and I wear each other’s clothes a lot on vacation.

"They have definitely asked me for fashion advice," she continues. "Right when Gigi was starting to model, we did a huge shopping excursion. I found her this insane Stella McCartney cape, and when she put it on, I thought, okay I’m borrowing that. I still haven't gotten my hands on it though – I need to call her about that!"

When asked how she got into styling, she replies: "By working in retail. I was really lucky that the store was Curve. Curve really treats their associates as stylists, because we are. Style is a huge part of most people's day.

"When you wake up, many times your first thought is, "What am I going to wear?" I love that some of my clients think, "What would Alana want me to wear?" I play 'dress up' with cool people. It's hard work, but I get to play with clothes. Who wouldn't love it?"

Who indeed? And who wouldn't love a stylist elder sister, either? We're pretty certain we'll be hearing plenty more about Hadid 'the big sis' in future, so it's certainly a case of watch this space.
