This is Leslie Jones.
'It shouldn't be exceptional to work with brilliant people just because they're not sample size. Congrats aren't in order, a change is.' Said Christian.
Now though, several stylists have said that it's Leslie's problem that she has no dress.
'This is nobody’s fault except Leslie’s' Stylist Jessica Paster who has worked for Emily Blunt, Miranda Kerr and Chrissy Teigan told Pret-A-Porter. 'She should have known four to five months ago the date of premiere, and said, "I’m not a sample size, I need to go to designers early or buy myself a dress." Don’t be blaming designers and saying they don’t like you."
Leslie rebuked this claim though, stating on Twitter that her team have 'been asking for months to many. Nobody wanted to.'
'When you're a designer, sitting with your accountant, you have to think about how much it costs to create a sample' Says Jeanne Yang who has worked for Robery Downey Jr. and Jamie Dornan. 'One dress has to serve for the runway show, for sales, and to get publicity. You don't have the option of creating things for premieres. No-one ever does a variety of sizes.' She says, drawing attention to the fact that 'sample size' is, and forever has been, a rigid and unchanging thing.
For most people though, it just seems bonkers. Cost aside, how many chances are there to get your dress worn by a goddess of a woman at one of the biggest media events of the year? That, one imagines, is not a chance that comes around often.
