Gemma Chan's promo tour wardrobe has been nothing sort of super, fitting as the film she's repping is Eternals, Chloe Zhao's superhero movie that's part of the Marvel Universe. Yesterday at the Rome Film Festival, Chan and her stylist, Rebecca Corbin-Murray, came prepared with a suitcase full of spectacular looks. First up, a spangled crop top and matching skirt from Miss Sohee, which the actor paired with a crystal-encrusted headdress that wrapped around her ears. At the photocall, Chan wore a blush pink minidress that swirled into a rose, changing later into another minidress, which was worn with a fluttering cape that fastened around her neck.
Chan's off-duty style is a lo-fi combination of beanie hats, jeans and trainers, but on the red carpet, she's all about a directional kind of polish. At this year's Met Gala, the actor paid homage to Anna May Wong, Hollywood's first Chinese-American actress, with a dragon-embellished gown by Prabal Gurung, the Nepalese-American designer. As an active voice in the UK's #StopESEAHate movement, Chan very often wears East and South East Asian designers, including Huishan Zhang, Jason Wu, Edeline Lee, Simone Rocha and ADEAM.
