Every season, there’s a dress — that you see on everyone, at everything and in every street style and Insta-pic.
Right now, it’s Ganni's Charron dress.
Statement neck, memorable-but-wearable print, flattering mid-calf length, not many sizes left on Net-a-Porter... It’s ticking all the IT boxes.
Though the Copenhagen-based brand’s AW17 collection has just dropped, we’ve already seen the checked seersucker midi dress on, like, five fashion people — and you know what they say...
Shown on the catwalk, it was layered over a striped knit and over trousers, with statement red brogues.
Toning down the Ganni aesthetic, the street style crowd — including model Adwoah Aboah, fashion editor at COSTUME Jeanette Friis Madsen and Laura Jackson — have worn it with trainers. While model Greta Bellamacina paired it with Jimmy Choo boots, reminiscent of the campaign imagery.
Founder of Luelle, Marie Hindaer Wolthers even proved it’s a credible pregnancy option, making the most of the cinched waist and styling it with Converse.
Though Ganni launched in 2000, it kept a relatively low profile — relative to other Scandi exports — until the last few years. Spotted on celebrities like Alexa Chung, Kendall Jenner and Alicia Vikander last summer, and dubbed 'affordable Acne', it soon became the get-to-know brand.
The Charron dress is only one piece from the collection, comprising of everything from a jumpsuit to a scrunchie.
Miraculously, it's still available to buy on the website,£235.
Quick, we predict a sell-out…
