Once upon a time, Kim Kardashian wasn't the same groomed Givenchy-wearing celebrity we see today. Actually, she dressed just like you and me. When we also used to dress really badly on account of it being 2006.
2006 was a dark time for fashion. The main aim was to fall somewhere in between 'sexy' and 'girly'. If in doubt about whether an item fit the bill, the one key question to ask yourself was 'What Would Paris Hilton Do?' Would Paris Hilton wear a high-necked, demure but classy dress for a night out? Absoultely not. Would Paris Hilton experiement with a raggedy skirt made out of swimsuit material with a thong hanging out the top? Of course she would.
One person who got a first hand look at how Paris dressed was former best mate Kim Kardashian. Who, by all accounts, Paris and other best mate Nicole Richie didn't care for that much. No really. Kim was however, at one point, Paris's stylist. Which seems a little bonkers.
Perhaps though, it goes some way to explaining this undeniably classic look.
