It was some time after the mid-noughties when vintage fashion got big. Real quick.
Now, in 2016, vintage shopping means 90s streetwear; Fila tracksuits and Adidas poppers.
But back then it was all about the Nana look.
This meant floaty tea dresses, big old glasses, clunky 80s shoes (that only fit if you were size five or below), a nice sensible nana handbag, big clip on earrings and, if you were really rich, a pair of those stockings that had the seam up the back.
I blame the moths that I still deal with today fully on that period which enabled the purchasing of many dusty wool items.
Katy Perry, in the year of her I Kissed A Girl debut, totally fell for it too. Just check out this picture her from the Betsey Johnson fashion show at NYFW. What a look.
