So, Fendi have a brand new headquarters – the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana in Rome (or 'Palace of Italian Civilisation' as it is in English).
Dubbed 'the Square Colosseum', the Palazzo is a magnificent feat of architecture and thus, the perfect home for Fendi's 400+ staff. It's a structure worthy of marvel, and indeed everyone should marvel at it. But the trouble for us Brits is, it's not in this country...
So Fendi are bringing it to us!
Until 30th August, the Italian fashion house are hosting a Pop-Up in London's Harrods, entitled 'Traces of Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana'.
With the help of artists Andrea Mancuso and Emilia Serra (of the Analogia Project), a retail space has been designed which pays homage to the palace – mirroring it, essentially – including archways, projections of clouds and oversized Fendi bags. Basically, a Fendi-lover's dream.
On sale will be a number of items available only at Harrods – such as a collection of Fendi's iconic 2Jours shopper bags and embellished 'By The Way' totes in an exclusive colourway. A python Peekaboo tote in large, mini and micro will also be available, as will a limited edition Crazy Carats watch.
And if that wasn't enough, there is even the opportunity to design your own bag. Visitors are encouraged to take part in a digital competition, to design a Fendi 3Baguette. Judged by Silvia Ventuini Fendi herself, the competition winner will receive an exclusive one-off 3Baguette, created specially by Silvia for the Pop-Up.
So if you're in the market for a new bag – and even if you aren't – hurry down to Harrods, pronto.
