If you’ve been looking at the same home office wall for seven weeks with one thought - ‘Can I do better than a couple of old posters and a 2018 calendar?’ - look no further. Tomorrow’s cover of Grazia features one-off sketches by fashion designers Erdem and Richard Quinn - and the originals are now being auctioned off for charity in collaboration with eBay.
The proceeds from Erdem’s sketch, which sees a woman’s dress literally blooming before our eyes, will go to the Emergency Designer Network. Founded by British fashion designers Phoebe English, Holly Fulton and Bethany Williams, it’s an army of creatives who are making garments for support staff and carers, which are hospital but not government-approved, to help free up PPE for ICUs.
The proceeds from Richard’s sketch, meanwhile, of a flower meadow at sunset seen through a thrown-open window, goes straight to the #VisorArmy, an east London initiative that’s manufacturing essential face protection for frontline healthcare workers.
eBay will match the donations to both charities - and is also encouraging its users to donate anything from 10% to 100% of their sales using the website's Charity Hub. In return, eBay plans to waive the equivalent in their fees so it’s a win-win.
The bidding is officially open so what are you waiting for? Your walls will thank you.
