Forget Royal Ascot and Henley Regatta. When it comes to outfit-spotting at sporting events, our eyes are trained on SW19 for the start of Wimbledon. What better way to kick off proceedings on day two than with an appearance by the Duchess of Cambridge, who chose a short-sleeved white shirt dress by Suzannah to take her seat in court 14 to watch British wildcard Harriet Dart. Luckily for fans, it's available to pre-order now.

The colour was certainly on-point - the players at Wimbledon have to wear tennis whites - and she accessorised with a straw top-handle bag and bow belt by her go-to designer, Alexander McQueen.
The dress’s hemline is what we’re really interested in. Kate used to be a knee-length kind of gal - and last year wore bright yellow and bang-on-the-knee Dolce & Gabbana to sit in the stands - but she’s recently discovered that sweet spot on the mid-calf. She wore a knee-covering number by Sandro yesterday for an event at Hampton Court, a similarly sweeping design by Ridley London for a charity event late last month, and mid-calf-length Elie Saab for Royal Ascot.

Her piece de resistance at Wimbledon? Not a glass of Pimm’s, but subtly cat’s eye sunglasses by Ray Ban. If you are headed for SW19, or any bbq/picnic/garden party this month, just remember - you can choose both.
