Things to know about Vashtie Kola: She's got an awesome name. She's 33 and looks 18. She's got over 172,000 followers on Instagram. She walked in the DKNY show at New York Fashion Week. She's the hottest-of-the-hot NYC DJs. And she used to go out with Pharrell. And you haven't heard of her.... how?

... Try sporty shapes and metallics. The co-ord will look subtly sexy, rather than matchy matchy.
Put the ornate with the everyday
It's a style rule almost set in stone, by now: the old hi-lo. Vashtie mixes a super orante shift dress with black chunky boots. Beachy hair keeps it low-key.
Black doesn't have to mean boring
An off-the-shoulder polkadot dress by Reformation - the Parrot dress is in stores, now - is lifted by a ton of gold chains, a messy halo braid, some red lipstick and a floral painted cross body bag by Louis Vuitton. If the Marc by Marc Jacobs show at NYFW last week was anything to go by, polkadots are going to be a rager next summer. So get in on the action early.
Say yes to the girliest blouse imaginable
Especially if it's by Chloe, natch. But this chiffon blouse, which essentially looks like a frilly nightshade, is given a totally different vibe with chunky gold earrings, red lipstick and a chunky bracelet. Who knows what she's wearing on her bottom half, but we'd suggest some flares for full seventies vibes, or some patchwork jeans and chunky platform loafers for a more casual look.
Schoolgirl never gets old
Just update it with fresh, modern details and err away from anything too American Apparel-y. A pleated black skirt will be one of your hardest working wardrobe staples and a polo shirt is more fun with pattern.
Dungarees can be sexy
White dungarees are one of our favourite way to wear dungarees especially with some chunky Air Force high tops. Make them a little sexier with one buckle undone and a bra poking through. Just because Autumn is coming doesn't mean the dungarees have to go. Why not try them in velvet, or a boiler suit undone showing a bit of lacy bra - same format, just updated.
