Don’t Be Scared But Spaghetti Strap Tops Are Back

If one singular piece could define the cusp-of-the-millennium, it would be without a doubt the floss-thin spaghetti strap top. Fearlessly flashing splices of the midriff and almost impossible to wear with standard underwear, they pose a quandary of dressing dilemmas. However, its Paris Hilton feels and understated minimalism sits right for this season.

As a pre-cursor to the going-out top, it used to be worn by the Kitson crowd with low-rise jeans and deep tans. Now, just shy of two decades later, it's been re-embraced by the Instagram community and with heart eyes flying around it’s got us double tapping like there’s no one watching. This time around the low slung denim has been swapped for sportswear and suiting, see for yourself...

The fashion clock has turned back the dial to 1998, and spaghetti strap tops are once again on the menu. Don’t scoff, when it looks this good in Burberry check.

2. Basic Isn't Always An Insult

As Jordyn shows this isn’t just stunning on lithe models, it works on mere mortals too. Shock. The trick is not overthinking it and letting this unapologetically sexy top contour your form without fuss.

3. The New Law

Balance out high-octane track pants like Iris’, which are from Gucci, with a tucked in tank top with slinky straps.

4. Black Out

For seasons now cardigans have been benched in favour of hoodies and sweatshirts. However, it’s just been subbed back in as it possesses the perfect antidote to the tank top’s clinginess. Sami has also layered chains and chokers to give this femme piece a harder edge.

5. Check Mate

Cora gave her best Theresa May impression with a tailored tartan suit and fancy loafers. Though, the addition of this skin slick strappy top was more punk than parliamentarian.

6. Accessories A-Game

Nepalese jewellery designer Arpana lets her layers of necklaces and gilded chokers shine with this top as a simple, understated foundation. Neve knock the underrated appeal of a basic.
