Some commentators have suggested a battle of the luxury brands is brewing, after Dolce & Gabbana’s designer took to social media to note Chanel’s ‘interesting’ similar shoe design.
Stefano Gabbana highlighted a lookalike comparison between a D&G shoe in 2014 with a style that debuted at Chanel’s ‘La Modernité de l’Antiquité’ Cruise show yesterday.
While no official statement has been made from either party, Stefano Gabbana, one-half of the design duo, re-posted a snap from Who Did It First on his personal Instagram.
The fancy footwear in question? Both brand’s were clearly inspired by ancient Greece – endorsing heels shaped like Ionic columns.
Gabanna did sign off his caption with a heart emoji though. So, it could just be harmless fash-un fun after all…
